It appears that the Democrats are gearing up for another wave of revisionism with Clarke as the point man for the Kerry campaign after a particularly disastrous week for Kerry and before what appears to be the start of a furious round of fundraising by the national campaign. Clarke is even directly contradicting Clinton's National Security Adviser who testified before a congressional committee on September 19, 2002 that they didn't turn over any war plans to the Bush administration.

How could they? The Clinton administration viewed Al Qaeda and terrorism as law enforcement issues for 8 years during which Al Qaeda grew and flourished with every escalating act of terrorism. Yet they now expect people to believe that the Bush administration should have been able to develop the right strategy against Al Qaeda and terrorism only 7-8 months after taking office. What is remarkable is that there are actually people gullible enough to swallow this fiction hook, line and sinker without realizing that Kerry also believes that Al Qaeda and terrorism are merely law enforcement and intelligence issues. This is the same John Kerry who has been used repeatedly like a cheap whore by Marxist/Gramscian theoreticians to undermine our fight against Communism in Vietnam, Latin America and the Middle East.

BERGER: Now, the second question you asked -- which comes off of the "Time" magazine story, I think -- was there a plan that we turned over to the Bush administration during the transition? I could address that.

The transition, as you will recall, was condensed by virtue of the election in November. I was very focused on using the time that we had -- I had been on the other side of a transition with General Scowcroft in 1992. But we used that time very efficiently to convey to my successor the most important information -- what was going on and what situations they faced.

Number one among those was terrorism and Al Qaida. And I told that to my successor. She has acknowledged that publicly, so I'm not violating any private conversation. We briefed them fully on what we were doing -- on what else was under consideration and what the threat was. I personally attended part of that briefing to emphasize how important that was.

BUT THERE WAS NO WAR PLAN THAT WE TURNED OVER TO THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION DURING THE TRANSITION. AND THE REPORTS OF THAT ARE JUST INCORRECT.
