Re: Why is CONgress asleep at the wheel...? Was it Mark Twain who commented that Congress is the only permanent criminal class in the nation? Or maybe it was Will Rogers. Congress is contentedly counting up its collections from the corporations. We can expect them to destroy democracy for the sake of a dollar.

Even Speaker Hastert ran interference for a bit when Bush tried to hide the 9/11 ball. Hastert should have known the hidden ball trick don't work no more!
