In the US case only Ray points to the pyrotechnics of 911. People don't belive him. In the case of Taiwan, most people believe it was wayo.

Ogh, that can happen only in farway countries. Here in the US? Never!

""How easy it would be to issue some statements about being eternally part of China and continue on their own way for a few decades until there is no difference in the two systems. Sad.""

Thanks you for giving me this chance to rant. I think you are referring to "One China, Two Systems" policy offered by China government to Taiwanese people. It is entirely in China government hands if they genuinely believe they are offering Taiwanese a genuine choice. They really do not have to point the missiles toward Taiwan if they have such a genuine intent at the same time put out a fake slogan like "One China, Two Systems" policy. Taiwanese are not China's second class citizens. They are their brothers.

To be a genuine emerging East Asia power, China government should publicly give up using threatening words or "I am the boss" attitude toward any country even to his Chinese brothers (Taiwanese). They will have a better reason later to solve their "Taiwan issue" if Taiwanese decided unilaterally to announce their independence in the worst case scenario.

Please replace China and Taiwan with USA and Canada. USA points all nuclear missiles toward Canada and tells the world USA offers Canadians a "One USA, Two Systems" policy. If Canadians do not take the order, USA reserves every right to attack as USA sees fit because USA's citizens and Canada's citizens were from Europe. Could you tell me you are happy or sad in this scenario? And you still think Taiwanese should not stand up to his bully brothers?

Taiwanese are not second class citizens to China. People like Mulan has the same attitude as China government. How do you feel about it?

""In any case it's a pity for the Taiwan people that they have such a president.""

He was elected as a president by democratic votes though there is a dispute on going right now. I never liked him personally. But I respect the result. I know fully he loves Taiwan and he will do the best he can for Taiwan. You should go to Taiwan and see how he makes speech to his supporters. He has every quality Mao Zhe Dong possess. He is slyly. He can arouse people.

Taiwan is a small island without resources. They certainly can not afford to lose their international trades be it with China, USA or any other country. In fact Taiwanese are the ones who invest heavily to support China's emerging status as an East Asia power. What do they get in return? Missiles on Taiwanese heads and threatening words like " we reserve the right to strike if you do not follow my order".

Luckily politics is just politics. Life goes on. Come on my friend you know better.
