And as many people have pointed out to you, employment does lag in a recovery.

This 10% decline started after the last jobs report when Challenger Gray and Christmas pointed out (correctly I might add) that we aren't going to add jobs this go-round (in the US). What the market makes of that is anyone's guess. Doesn't look like it likes it.

As far as housing price inflation goes, rents are declining in some areas where housing prices are rising so that would need to be factored in also.

The bubble wasn't normal, but the early 90s were no bubble and this market is no early 90s market.

*OT*

Hope things are well with you GV.

Nah, not much inflation around, until I get my homeowner's natural gas heating bill. Then, I get my homeowner's insurance bill. Since I pay for my own healthcare, boy, that bill sure looks like my mortgage payment lately. Glad I don't drive a Suburban, at $2.49/gallon in Conn, that would be 75 bucks to fill that 30 gallon tank <ggg>. Glad I do own a house up here in the Northeast though, on paper it's just been skyrocketing in value. BUT, how about those property taxes if you really want to see some inflation!! Well, at least I can buy a 'really cheap' laptop to look for better insurance values that really aren't out there. Thank God I don't need any Lipitor (yet), that might put me over the edge <ggg>..

Best regards,
John <ggg>
