The number two man.........Steven Hadley.......complete smuck! Lesley Stahl makes him look like the idiot consort. She kind of let him off the hook though...shame...he was in the middle of suggesting that the meeting between clarke and bush at which he asked clarke to find the link between iraq and alqueda never took place...and leslie interrupted him and said that cbs has independent witnesses. Too bad...clarke could have sprung that on a wh in denial. Unfortunately these guys (clarke/o'neil) are not the attack dogs that work for bush and they make themselves vulnerable to counterattacks. I wonder when we will hear from the folks who also witnessed this conversation between bush and clarke. Kerry was right to say that these are the worst bunch of crooks to occupy the wh in memory. Al, yeah she saved him from making a bigger fool of himself. As for the crook business, there is good reason why none of Kerry's supporters were asking him to apologize. Even the WH very quickly realized they have no traction there. Having said all that, I was watching FOX last week and I understand better how these people can blow off reality. They tell themselves that in spite of the turmoil, Iraq is much better off than last year......Saddam is gone, people are free, business is picking up in places like where the Kurds live etc. These improvements allow them to ignore the bombs and chaos that feed into a growing terrorist network. They are a very disturbing, self righteous group of people and I will not feel comfortable until they are out of office. ted
