Maybe Bush has ADHD and has been so hyper-focussed on Iraq that he has jeopardized our national security.

Well, IMHO Bush sees the BIG PICTURE. You gotta drain the swamp to get all the snakes. Saddam was a major supporter of terrorism, converting that nation to a peaceful, prosperous middleeastern nation will go a long ways toward draining the swamp. Pres. Bush said right from the git go this is going to be a long war. jdn

Chasing Al Quiada was a means to an end.

Well, there you have it in this nut's spiel: the essential difference between the left and the right on our Middle East policy.

The left simply refuse to see any past, present or future connections between the secular terrorism championed by Saddam Hussein's Baathist party and the religious terrorism championed by the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden's Al Qaeda even though both Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden considered Saudi Arabia -- the world's largest oil reserves and the guardian of Islam's holiest shrines -- to be the key target in achieving control of Middle East Oil and the future of the Islamic authoritarian state.

As a result we get all kinds of sissified arguments from the left about how we should have left Iraq alone, strong-armed the Saudi's more, tiptoed around the theocracy in Iran and pussyfooted around the Islamist nuclear state in Pakistan in order to hunt down Osama Bin Laden without sacrificing his rights or hurting his feelings in Afghanistan even though Osama Bin Laden was recruiting his suicide bombers from all over the Middle East precisely so they could intimidate countries like Spain and the other countries in Europe where they have more than 15 million unassimilated Muslims growing at 2-3x the rate of the hapless white European majority.

And of course, since 70% of the US population of nearly 300 million people trace their lineage to Europe, the leftist cant is that we should always be extremely solicitous about the feelings and insecurities of the culture that gave us two hot wars and a cold one during the 20th century. Because you see, what Europe has learned from its glorious past (and more than 15,000 wars) is that it is not really important how you finish a war, it is how you start it.

No wonder E.T. and the effete left like John Kerry and his unisex macho bluster.
