it is a lot of things but essentially a product of bureaucracy, in his case, old school, intellectual class bureaucracy...the worst kind.

our society is rife with this kind of trash, all trying to make a buck on the writings of their trials and tribulations at the expense of the taxpayer.

this creep is just using hindsight to try to advance his book sales.

in truth we are all just little pawns in the big game that is played by the real time players.........

All we have is our slanted thoughts about right and wrong and a bit of intellectual curiosity to keep us awake....

in real world time it is about survival of the fittest including all forms of endeavor, from actual physical threat and action to economic leveraging and practice.

my tribe...your tribe...

us or them...

Fuck'em all I say, we need to be the winners, pure and simple......

the sooner they all understand that bit of truth and wisdom the better off they will all be...

I hope a few of the whiners and lefty liberal ass wipes on this forum read this post and get just a small whiff of what it is really about....being on top, winning, the survivor.........

regards from Chuck

From "Ghost Wars - The Secret History Of The CIA, Afghanistan, And Bind Laden, From The Soviet Invasion To September 10, 2001" by Steve Coll, the managing editor of The Washington Post.

"Rice told Clarke she wanted him to stay on the National Security Council. Yet is was obvious from the start that Clarke would lose some or most of his power in the Bush administration....Weeks later Rice completed the first phase of her NSC reorganization, and Clarke formally lost his Cabinet-level status on terrorism issues. In response he asked Rice for a transfer. Clarke said he wanted to give up his work on bin Laden and concentrate instead on the threat of attacks against American computer systems. Rice agreed, promising to consult Clarke occasionally on terrorism questions." pages 542-543

BTW, the disclosure that certain individuals in the Bush administration, primarily Rumsfeld, were looking to hit Iraq immediately after 9/11 is not new. Bob Woodward, in his book "Bush at War" mentioned it. This is old news. The media has a short memory.
