Allixon to Develop EPC Network System Project for IBM Korea
Monday March 22, 7:38 am ET

TORONTO, March 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - InterAmerican Resources, Inc. (Pink Sheets: IANR - News) announced that Allixon will develop an Electronic Product Code Network System, EPC, using Radio Frequency Identification, RFID, Technology for IBM Korea. The object of the project is to develop a system that can provide efficient data flow for each step in the distribution chain using a RFID that will be economical to implement.

Receiving, picking and shipping will be totally automated through the use of this type of system. The project will apply RFID to both manufacturing distribution centers and retail distribution centers.

Allixon is expected to start implementing the developed system in industrial applications during 2004.

As RFID implementation is expected to spread rapidly in the near future, Wal-Mart and the Department of Defense (DOD) have both issued a mandate to its top suppliers to incorporate RFID tags in all pallet shipments by 2005. These and other industry initiatives are expected to help grow the global RFID market to $3 billion by 2008, according to ABI Research.
