I will never expect this country would ever ask for anyone's permission to defend itself... Spain's beef was with respect to Iraq. There was no need to attack Iraq since it had near-zero ability to defend itself, let alone attack the US. Btw, the "USA has to defend itself", "mushroom cloud over New York" etc. etc. arguments are stale. Now, you should be talking about how proud you are to sacrifice your fellow Americans' lives in "freeing the Iraqi people".
