What Clarke said last night is exactly what many Americans believe to be the truth. The "war" on Iraq was a massive scam. A scam more obvious than any stock scam I've ever seen. Those who choose to ignore it, are every bit as guilty as Bushie.

Terrorism on the Ropes: What has been achieved to date The Allah-proclaimed Jihad existing in the mind of OBL and his deputies has been defeated. His attempt to rally all Arab nations in a mighty coalition to defeat American Imperialism has failed. Al Queda has been reduced to a war-torn and hunted bunch of leaderless criminals in hiding without funds, and without a common goal. Every move they now make will be a mistake that will demonstrate how ruthless, how brutal, and how impossible they are to live with or support. The moves they have made recently- killing Saudis and Iraqis, killing UN members, killing Turks, killing Indonesians and Australians, and killing innocent Spaniards. Those moves expand and clarify the meaning of GWB's words " Are you with us, or against us" Unluckily it also means our response was well named as being a true War on Terror, causing a re-alignment of Nations loyalties, priorities, and expenditures to deal with the threat whose effectiveness is becomming clear. The US Congress, overall, has never had a problem with with recognizing the danger and supporting the operation. After all, each Congressmans desk was was a target of the 4th highjacked aircraft that failed its mission. And they remember. Convincing the public of the need for action is never an easy thing, Only Saddam got 100% of the vote in a democracy and the US is divided about 50-50 So most of one party will vote against anything , either good or bad,which the party in power proposes. Saddam is finished and the Iraqis can now create a new government of their chosing, with enormous oil wealth used to rebuild a free land. The Taliban is no more and Afghanistan is better off. The ME oil resources have been stabilized. The government has done its job, attempting to eliminate the major threats to the US. But as most people recognize the public must also get involved If only to turn in suspicious characters or actions, to be more careful and thorough when implementing security measures, and be willing to tolerate the enlarged national debt as a fair price to pay for retaining a free society. The present chaos should be a bad as it gets, until all wheels are turning in the same direction, with all guns aligned againt basic terrorism. No Arab Nation has indicated they are willing to conduct a Jihad such as OBL envisioned. So there should be hope of no major East- West conflagration. Sig
