The UN doesn't exactly have a reputation for being even-handed towards Israel, which is the most condemned country in the UN, by far. They can hardly be bothered to look at Rwanda or Zimbabwe or the Sudan, but Israel they can agree on. When they have actually patrolled anywhere on Israel's borders, as in Lebanon, they have a history of reporting Israel's actions, but not Hizbullah's. (Since there is a lot more to fear from the wrath of a Hizbullah terrorist than an Israeli officer, this makes some sense, I guess) When Hizbullah borrowed a few UN uniforms, and kidnapped and killed some Israeli soldiers, the UN stood by, and made a videotape - then denied to Israel that there was a tape until it was too late to do anything.
