We are getting cleaned out, UW.

On 9/11 over 50% of the men on A Teams were eligible for retirement. All had numerous prior overseas deployments and a helluva lot of exposure.

There was no exodus. They went to Afghanistan and elsewhere. Shortly after 9/11 we had simultaneous SF deployments in 76 countries. Now 2 1/2 years later, they are closer to 30 years service and others have their 20 done. These men are in demand. That experience has value. Fortunately, those who take other jobs only get them with US firms supporting the war effort.

USAF had a similar problem in the 60s. As the 707 came on line, the airlines recruited thousands of trained jet pilots right out of the Air Force.

Recruiting is the solution. A higher manpower pool to recruit from would make it much easier. Let's reinstate the draft.
