It was a Quid-Pro-Quo deal... We'll leave you alone if you issue a PR statement re. abandoning WMD programs, which he probably wasn't seriously pursuing in the first place. Now Chimp is using Ghadafi and his useless announcement as part of his campaiging - showing how "effective" his misadminstration has been at fighting terrorism. Geeze we haven't heard from Libya in a dogs age.

Reagan bombed Libya killing and injuring part of Gadafi's family and narowly missing him, and now Libya is disarmed , what makes you think he was let off?

Gadafi was bombed and has surrendered the suspects in the bombing, who were put on trial. He has now given up his WMD.

It is pretty safe to say that if Saddam had been as cooperative that he would still be dictator of Iraq.
