Afghany, Iraq had zip to do with trade gap
war effort helped US defense contractors
dropping bombs does not spend money abroad
Halliburton (Brown&Root) meals in Iraq dont either
upgrading Iraqi oilfields takes in money
troop allowance of $7/wk are meaningless
kickstarting Afghany heroin trade probably helped though

powerful factors were:
- consumption addiction
- easy money
- skyrocketing US household debt (now 78% of US GDP)
- Japanese BOJ resistance to JYen adjustment
- 80-90% gutting of US mfg
- new wrinkle with service sector net deficit
- zip US business investment, except for IT to help outsourcing
- networking/broadband advances facilitate job outsourcing
- US$ decline causes higher US commodity import prices
- weak EuroUnion economy from higher Euro currency
- massive expansion of Chinese foreign direct investment

you seem steadily to ignore 3/4 of the factors
