I agree in that preventing attacks is not easy and that a sniper with a used car could do so much of a havoc. However, what is disturbing that an Administration would use the 9/11 incident to their advantage and execute their grand designs on Iraq. That the President would tell Clarke to go and manufacture a link between 9/11 and Iraq when there was none.

I mean we get so hung up with the Clinton Lewinsky lying that he should not have lied. Whereas his action did not imperil any innocent lives, Bush's suggestion to cook the report to implicate Iraq cost many many innocent lives and a lot of taxpayer money.
