the whole thing with all this temping and cost cutting is driving the whole socialized healthcare debate again. I think this time, we're going to have to get a national healthcare plan. The few companies who are paying for healthcare are basically subsidizing the whole country, all the family members which used to have everybody covered are now relying on one person's coverage because everybody else is laid off or temping. And then of course there are whole companies who rely on no healthcare as a financial strategy (walmart). The states are feeling the burden. Its the end of the line on this system I think.

<<It's an extremely competitive job market.>>

Thats an understatement.....This country is in big trouble...and whats funny is I remember when I was young my parents used to tell me how tough things were for them and how lucky we are to be growing up when we were and how lucky we would be to be the age we are at this current time period and how lucky we would be when we get to retirement age......LOL, sorry, but I am about 40 and frankly I look ahead to my generation and retirement and I dont see many people, except the lucky ones, retiring in comfort. I see many in my generation are going to have to keep working til they die......We sure as heck can't expect help from SS or our Gov't, and with most people's retirement plans, ira's and etc, sitting in the equities market, it could be very ugly down the road....We do what the experts say...my wife puts the max allowed into her 401k and gets a fair match from her employer....but what good does it do if all that gets flushed down the drain.....and now, they are changing her pension plan and basically forcing her to throw her pension benefits into the market as well....May be better to put it in some low yield bonds, as 1% gain is better then losing 25% or more.......
