Yeah what the heck happened ?

I'm guessing that for now the top has been put in so the only thing to do is sell. We are still in a "buy stocks for outrageous immediate capital gains" market.

With interest rates at 1%, why can't the NASDAQ simply go up 10% per year for a few years instead of up 80% - down 20%.

Of course we all know why -- if it did most of Wall Street would be out of work. They need trade in and out of stocks constantly to justify and get their multi-million dollar salaries.
