You seem to be saying that Yassin's followers have a decision tree here: Oh, the Israelis arrested Yassin fair and square by this "rule of law" thing instead of killing him, so therefore, we just gonna stop all this murdering thing. Okay, everybody go home. Yassin was apprehended and in absence of anything better to do, let's get back to the bar and play some chess. Cuz', you know, if he had been killed, we'd just have to kill a whole more for that reason alone and we're not gonna do that now, since the cops rightfully handcuffed him to his wheelchair, man. Move along. Move along.

"Israel is no better than the people they are murdering. The killing will go on, and on. Murder to justify more murder, to be answered by more murder."

In a more chaotic situation, where there was no competent and effective authority, and respect for the rule of law were not at issue, I would not, in fact, consider vigilantism wrong, it is merely makeshift. That is the situation outside of the settled jurisdiction of a nation- state. The legitimacy of the Israeli legal system is not acknowledged by the Palestinians, and Israel has, in fact, conceded ordinary administration of the territories to the PLA. Thus, it has no choice but to deal with Hamas through reprisals, rather than treating them as ordinary criminal defendants........

"Israel is no better than the people they are murdering."

I don't think Israel is concerned so much with holding the moral high ground, as it is with survival.
