Some of that money could have been used to finance the 9/11 hijackers. Bin Ladin was married to the head of the Taliban's daughter.......Mullah Omar was his father-in-law.

zonkie...I'm glad that you dug that article out. I remember reading it when it was first published. The Taliban aid program slipped my mind in the interim.

It's interesting when you consider that GW and company are insisting that they were sufficiently vigilant prior to 9/11. And Clarke's accusation that the bushies were more concerned with Saddam than with the Taliban and their Al Qaeda friends.

I guess giving them money was some part of their anti-terrorism plan?
