I saw one that was more than a few shacks on TV. But as you pointed out, they were in Iraq. Thanks. It has been awhile...

The bases (actually the "bases" consisted of some run-down empty shacks, so calling them bases is in itself misleading) belonged to a terrorist group that had connections to Al Qaeda. They were in a part of Iraq that Saddam had no control over (if anyone had control of it, it was us), and were not supporters of Saddam's regime.
