Thanks for the alternative to PartitionMagic that you provided and the other suggestions. Bootit does seem like a highly regarded and less expensive alternative. One suggestion that I received in another forum was to shift the space reserved for pagefiles from the C drive - which is the default drive where this space is assigned - to one of the other partitions. I did do this and it freed up almost 800MB of space on C which has certainly take care of my immediate problems. This change has not affected the performance of my computer at all. For any one who is interested in how to do this, I will be pleased to outline the steps.
