Plus Clarke wants the publicity to help with the sales for his new book...

So does CBS, the network of Dan Rather and Uncle Wally Cronkite.

Curious, isn't it, that CBS's parent, Viacom, is also parent to Simon & Schuster, publisher of Clarke's book?

it gets worse than that, you have the book seller telling him what to write, and 60 minutes helping to promote books from this book seller. It is sad and misleading to watch a infomercial on 60 minutes like it is news. viacom, cbs , simon , clarke are all the same money machine. It should be a law that when 60 minutes start of their breaking Sunday night programs that they tell the public up front the person we are interviewing < we will go very softly as this is a book promotion > it part of our corporation we work for the same corp viacom.. the book, this station and this program is all viacom. So we do not want to do anything that will hurt our ratings, or book sales.
