THREAD:

I emailed to a liberal friend of mine the transcript from Fox News regarding Richard Clarke. I got from her the following response:

[Fox is] hardly an unbiased source. Even so, I don’t see anything in here that contradicts the nub of what Dick Clarke is saying which mostly relates to what Bush did after September 11th. That is - when meeting immediately after the attack, instead of concentrating on protecting the US and responding to the attack - Bush and his team were trying to pin this on Iraq and make some connection between 9-11 and Iraq when there was and is absolutely no connection.
The fact of the matter is that Bush and his cronies went into office determined to “get” Iraq come hell or highwater for a variety of reasons none of which were in America’s best interests. These ranged from proving to daddy that he could deal with Iraq once and for all - to making lots of money by giving huge reconstruction deals to US companies headed by Cheney and friends – to the idiotic idea that Arab countries just need to have the chance to be a western style democracy and they will be eternally grateful to the US!
I think as the [Fox news] piece below shows nothing that you are beginning to grab at straws!

I need some ammo to respond point by point to this. I'd do it myself but I am busy on a work project today. Any help would be appreciated! TIA
