Gina,
I dont think condi fared well. I remember clearly reading about the plane/bomb possibilities prior to 9/11. She said all that they(the admin) were considering were traditional hijackings. She should read more Clancy stuff. I am sure others in the admin were aware of the plane bomb stuff. BTW, Clarke is a frustrated bureacrat who never had the guts to say what he might have thought for fear of losing his job or influence or whatever. Of course much of what "he thought" is delusional in the sense that he thought of it after 9/11 and then deceived himself into thinking he had these brilliant thoughts pre-9/11. And now the 15 minutes of fame and the millions the stab in the back book gets him. It was interesting seeing kerry getting off the plane yesterday with clarkes book in hand, but no comments--he hasnt finished it yet. Kerry will say nothing but this will be the longest read as he shleps it from campaign stop to campaign stop. Mike

The perspective of the Boston Herald and the Boston Globe is amazing.

Makes me want to ask if Kerry can carry his home state.

Clarke is fortunate to be safely retired. The bs and doodoo he is throwing around now could get him fired.

SI still having problems - I can't respond to those posts responding to me. Oh well.

Mike, the way everything is being "spun", what really happened between Clarke and Condi Rice doesn't much matter, unfortunately. The good thing is that she is not alone to defend herself.

UW, I think this may be a popular bumper sticker in MA this year :-) :
