For crying out loud. You really are desperate to discredit any critics of your precious little president, aren't you?

I don't know Clarke from Adam. Never heard of him before last week. Whatever you can dig up about his vices, personality, etc etc, the fact remains that he was working to keep your country safe from terrorism during a number of presidents, from Reagan onwards, including W.'s daddy. To me, that means he knows a bit about terrorism, and that he was good enough at his job to stay at the top for so long.

Now go dig more dirt, if you like. It won't change the facts. The inconvenient thing about democracies is that facts cannot be suppressed for very long and (mis)leaders can then be held accountable. The commission investigating 9/11 is uncovering some important facts. You might like to take a look, rather than embark on a knee-jerk reaction to dig dirt on critics of your holy administration.

“But out of the gobbledygook, comes a very clear thing:... you can’t trust the government; you can’t believe what they say; and you can’t rely on their judgment; and the – the implicit infallibility of presidents, which has been an accepted thing in America, is badly hurt by this, because it shows that people do things the President wants to do even though it’s wrong, and the President can be wrong.”
- H.R. Haldeman to President Nixon, Monday, 14 June 1971, discussing the Pentagon Papers

Richard Clarke's patriotism and bravery will become much more evident as history bores in on the facts of George W. Bush's war on Iraq.

It's funny to see Bush supporters claim that Bush would have handled Al Qaeda better than Clinton. Clinton wanted to go after Al Qaeda, and made some small steps in that direction. But, he couldn't ever get the justification for a big strike. Bush got the justification on 9/11. What was his reaction? Let's avoid Al Qaeda and go after Saddam. ROFL!
