No doubt, it hurt him short term..Of course that is the reason you lying Democrats did that. Clarke and the media (read CBS) are a disgrace, but their time is coming.

Bush has taken a hit in the polls for three straight days and shows no sign of recovery.

This is to be expected, since the media generally treats Clarke and his book as if they are credible. But when you get such leftist media outlets as Time Magazine, claiming that Clarke is not credible, you know a very powerful weapon has been given to the GOP.

The GOP has yet to respond to the Democrats here. They now have an awful lot of weaponry handed to them during this Democrat "investigation." Traditionally the GOP has been a lot less intense than Democrats about pushing their point-of-view. If this continues, then they will lose. If they organize their weaponry and then unleash it in as coordinated way as Clarke and the Democrats have now done with the book and the "investigation," the GOP will win - and decisively.

The Clarke testimony will continue to linger for the remainder of the campaign.

Indeed. But if the GOP exploits it, it will linger as an unprincipled attack by Democrats against an American presidential administration that did what Democrats failed to do for eight whole years. And the economy won't be mentioned for months on end. And neither will Kerry's ideas and agenda.

Damage control - day 5 - Nobody has found any way to defend our soft on terrorism president. Many have reverted to the old worn out attack on Clinton through Monica. Rice contradicts Cheney, Cheney contradicts Rice, Rove pulling his hair out. Junior continues to attack Kerry with lies, won't answer any questions, wishes this crap was over so he could go back to Crawford. Things to get worse. Stay tuned.
