"The muskrat was almost the size of the dog and the fangs were at least 2" long."

Almost ran into one them as a kid. General Electric , river works was out on strike going on thirteen weeks. We had rats coming out of there in droves. One morning i go running out the back door and this muskrat is running through the yard and clears a picket fence. i turn and run back up stairs scared as can be. neighbor kids about fifteen is out of roof ledge with a 22 rifle shooting rats. Funny how my memories gets jogged. ggg I think i was about five or six and rat was BIG like a cat or dog.

My father said with no one working there was no food for them so they are coming out looking for food. We had the Philly stadium blown up last week and they were talking about the all the rats that lived in there. plus the cats.. guy said they went in twice to get all the cats out.

there was a special called Nyc rats on discovery channel or pbs last week.. I watch some of it and it was just awful. One family had to move out of their house as their fight with rats was losing. The rats took over the house. The city is loaded with them. Garbage cans have chains around them and locked so the rats do not get the lids off.
