re:Clarke's book and testimony clearly undercuts his credibility

Keep repeating it. It's a lie.

Clarke#1 destroyed Clarke#2's credibility.
End of story.

That is what Tom Friedman said, that the administration should have faced the "missing" WMD's squarely and not tried to finesse it. Who knows. Until you do you never know how the press will react. I see them meeting somewhat secretively in a hotel room with the Democratic candidate and I can't say "not a single soul would have cared about it". They want his head on a platter. Why can't they give Bush the benefit of the doubt and just grant that we are unable to connect the dots. Years from now we may find them (and MOST thought they'd be there) so why try to blame Bush alone for this. Man used to kill his leaders when they got weak, his instincts are still the same.

BTW, using Dumbya does not make you sound sincere.;) Clarke is not a very sympathetic figure. Surprisingly, the press is not very sympatheic to Conoleeza Rice either. Who'd have thought a black woman would be scorned by the press. You'd think she'd lost some FBI files for a couple of months and couldn't find them.
