I think the battle is already lost. America is like a tall tree the roots of which have been rotted away by disease. It still stands as proudly as ever, but its doom is certain because its foundation is destroyed. We cannot stop it. But we can perhaps delay it long enough to take for ourselves whatever value she has left in her. This is the issue upon which I have hinged my loyalty to the country. If the American government actually comes to forcing its citizens to accept what in nature they clearly are not, then America is no longer free at all. It will take a bit before I know if I am to remain an American or jump ship. In the meantime, I will do what I can to prepare for the future while fighting the good fight, just because it is the right thing to do.
