I have no idea what you - or Clarke, as the case may be - mean by "with Bush out of town." He was back in DC within hours of the attacks of 9/11. I've already read Bernstein's book about 9/11 and its aftermath. More detail than that is not interesting to me. I gather that you want me to read Clarke's book because you like Clarke and think it vindicates him from my charge that he's a dunderhead. Fine. I can accept that neither you nor Clarke think he's a dunderhead. You probably don't think there's anything wrong with his allegation that VX can be manufactured by simply mixing a powder with bleach and water, either. Or his allegations that critical processes of US manufacturers are subject to crippling attack by computer viruses which affect Windows.
