Until 9-11, a hijacking within the United States was a law enforcement issue. Until 9-11, there was a law that separates the military from law enforcement duties within the United States. Until 9-11, intelligence reports from the CIA (intenational) and FBI (domestic) were independent and separate. Would you have been in favor of sending several thousand Special Forces to Afghanistan and passing the Patriot Act based on "increased internet chatter"?
