Hi Glenn,

Re: Comedy shows like "The Daily Show" "are making fun of what they see as the insufficiency of news programs, especially those on cable," said Tom Rosenstiel, director of the Project for Excellence in Journalism. He said that highlights the need for more traditional news shows to learn how to appeal to younger adults.

What a horse's ass. What Jon Stewart is making me and most of his audience laugh about is the assinine and dishonest coverage of reality that the rest of the montrosity called TV is providing.

"Appeal to young adults?" ROTLFMAO! Now about appealing to our intelligence? How about appeal to some semblance of decency? TV is a wasteland..... but a very good propaganda tool, as long as the sheeple are willing to not think.

SAUL ALINSKY and COMMUNITY ORGANIZING --

Glenn,

I share your frustration at the timidity of MoveOn. They are pretty wimpy.

My favorite story about Saul Alinsky was from Buffalo. He was called in because City Hall there was refusing to deal with a huge problem with rats infesting the lower-class neighborhoods of the city. Nothing the locals could do would cajole the mayor or the city council to act to abate the pests. Local organizers contacted Alinsky and he came up with a wonderful plan.

He had the citizens trap rats in their homes, and release them in City Hall.

Within days, there was a rat abatement program in Buffalo.
