Clarke's accusations "will not have an impact because nobody believes that George Bush isn't wholly focused on preventing attacks like those of September 11th," said Nicolle Devenish, the Bush-Cheney campaign's communications director. I don't know that this remains a true statement. The fallout has just begun. Some folks will never relinquish their beliefs that anything left of Bush is bad, but undecided, yet discerning people will no longer be fooled.
