The problem is that Bush lives by a belief system and that cannot be beat. It's not money, because the Bush money will not touch the Kerry money

Re: Isn't the distinction that the National Security Adviser is not confirmed by Congress? The President is asserting his perogative (based upon his understanding of executive privilege) that Presidential advisors need not testify before any Congressional forum. (Let's put aside for now the fact that the committee is not a Congressional committee... but rather is a 'Special Investigative Forum' who's members were appointed directly by the President, and that several Presidential advisors --- in fact, even one sitting President, Gerald Ford, have previously waived the privilege and testified before such special committee's.....) No one is challenging the President's asserted legal claim. But, since the claim is Bush's... he could easily waive it if he wanted to allow his aide to testify, without prejudicing his claim. IMO, 'testifying' while not under oath, is worse than not appearing at all.
