The United States was attacked on 9/11 for no reason whatsoever -- other than some terrorists are envious of our lifestyles; and" I think this is true. I read the majority of the terrorists came from an especially oppressed region in Saudi Arabia that the Kingdom dislikes. Even though they were engineers, they grew up in a highly oppressed region. I think 9/11 is the result of Saudi Arabia's oppressive regime that pushed at-risk people off the edge. Saudi Arabia has an oppressive culture that spawns terrorists. RE: "Long term, this means killing off Palestinian terrorists, one by one." But I disagree with this point. I think war needs to be short, not long, otherwise it creates more terrorists. Look no further than that Intel employee who turned into a terrorist, possibly because his Mom's house was reportedly being bombed every week in Palestine. To the contrary of this, look at Japan and Germany, their countries were taken over and rebuilt - and they don't spawn as many terrorists as Palestine. So I see no reason for a half-baked approach. They either need to take the country over and rebuild it in order to give people hope, or they need to put a wall up, like you said, and remove the settlements that are a source of irritation. But not this middle stuff, that simply agitates people's wounds or creates a sense of hopelessness and more terrorists. Hopefully, the US can get dependent upon a different energy source, so we are not dependent upon middle east stability. We never should have made their war, our war. We should not be the brunt end of Saudi Arabia's oppressive regime. Regards, Amy J
