Fine, you're on for $500. I feel confident about cold fusion being real. One of my hobbies is following developments in alt.energy and I've followed cold fusion closely. It is coming out of the wilderness quickly now. But, if I'm putting $500 on it, I'll take your 10 year bet to be on the safe side. I do think it will be resolved sooner than that though. Fair enough regarding your criteria of acceptance: 2 reputable labs and published in peer-reviewed scientific journals (that is certainly a fair standard to judge a legitimate scientific discovery). I believe that is exactly what will happen with cold fusion in coming years.
