they've got an impossible job at the GAO because the internet has globalized everything and now with all the currency fluctuations how can anybody report anything and claim accuracy. I don't know the mechanics of these statistics but I wondered last year about companies like Applied materials with manufacturing in say Singapore, back offices operations in India, corp HQ (and some R&D) + patents here, selling a machine into China. How to statistically represent that? Impossible, a guesstimate is the best you can do.
