Of course given the way those voting machines seem to work in Georgia ...

Majette Running for U.S. Senate

A Democrat in Congress plans to run for Georgia's open U.S. Senate seat. And that decision could bring back one of the Republicans' worst nightmares.

Rep. Denise Majette confirmed Monday she'll enter the race to replace the retiring Sen. Zell Miller. The Democrats have had trouble finding a big-name candidate to fill Miller's position. Only a couple of state Senators have expressed interest.

Majette becomes the third U.S. House member to run for the Senate seat. The Republican race pits Rep. Mac Collins against Rep. Johnny Isakson, among other candidates.

Majette was elected to Congress two years ago, helped by a large number of Republicans crossing over to vote against outspoken Rep. Cynthia McKinney in the Democratic primary. McKinney announced over the weekend she'll run again for her old seat.

If there was a strong democratic candidate running I think Bush would be finished.

Kerry hasn't looked good in quite a while. The "I voted for it before I voted against it" thing is astonishing.
