I have watched countless NCAA basketball games in my life and just about every time I see these male cheerleaders, I die laughing. No matter how serious the looks on their faces are, no matter how intense they yell through their little megaphone cones, I know it’s just an act. I know that there is only one real reason these guys embarrass themselves – it’s so they can hang out with the girl cheerleaders and maybe get a chance to balance them in the air while grabbing their ass.

Not Bush, he only cheerled with other guys.

But how come you never see any 8-year old boy-cheerleaders? Perhaps it’s because if the essence of cheerleading is to ‘cheer on the boys’, then being a male cheerleader at the age of 8 might mean you were….. <gulp>….. gay!

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

This would be my general thought process when deciding whether or not to become a cheerleader:

Negatives – have to wear a silly uniform, shout through a cone, practice often, and deal with people questioning my sexuality.

Positives – it’s the only place I can think of where I can grab a girl under their skirt without being arrested.

Not a factor at an all male school!
