No one has ever witnessed a successful mutation in nature or a lab and quite honestly it takes as large a leap of faith to believe blindly in evolutionary science as it does in creation.

Flu virues mutate almost on a seasonal basis ...and all life comes from the microbial arena originally . No great leap of faith there , we see the earth's largest bio-masses today are still comprised the tiny planktons and microcellular algaes...

The one thing that does puzzle , is the more history repeats itself , the more we are doomed to repeat it ?

But as Darwin's theory of Evolution so elegantly described the vast ages of change (just percieving and learning of this to me is a miracle of the fruition of our own perception, intuition and cognizance)...so it also was used as a tool to promote many unsavory doctrines of social supremacy of the wealthier race and classes of people vs the poorer and underdeveloped exploited peoples , because they were "less fit" .

Some adaptations of the theory of evolution did not stand the test of time and did not evolve.

Now, just think of man's hand in the creation of breeds of horses or canines in the last several 1000 yrs ....alot of changes there, and in the plant world as well. And all grazing land mammals that you see today , have evolved as the introduction and evololution of the grasses did take place . A newer adaptation in the plant world giving rise to the plains from sea to shining shores , that were not in existence before.

And then there came the drifting continent theory , and
Plate Tectonics... completely revolutionizing geology in
the late last century...just completly elegant .

"No one has ever witnessed a mutation"...

What? Exactly What is your definition of a "mutation"?
Perhaps a definition of "witness" and "mutation" is the problem with your supposition. Is something like creating buckminsterfullerene a "mutation" or just "god-like creation"?

By witness, do you mean "watching" cells divide, or something like that? Or "watching" generations of fruit flies?

What is it about "witness" and "mutation" that you are speaking to? Wasn't the creation of the "Doberman Pinscher" a "planned mutation"?
