Most of those customer service polls that you see are sponsored by magazines in which Dell is a much more significant advertiser than most of the competition. There's no question in my mind that the results are skewed somehow in Dell's favor.

I've bought computers for my firm from a variety of companies over the years and I haven't seen any significant difference at all between Dell or Compaq or Gateway or others.

No need to be coy -- I merely reported the experience I had, which is so different from what I have experienced from Dell over the past several years. I was astounded at how bad the experience was this time, mostly because my experiences with Dell before had been so exceedingly positive. I've probably spent $30,000 with them over the past few years, and have made many times that on their stock in the past.
