Those are nice sentiments but I would put the odds of it working at less than one-tenth of one percent.

Given that the cost of attempting it will be high, both in terms of dollars and American lives, I think it is better to try a more direct approach to the problem.

And that can only happen through a long-term and dedicated effort to assisting some measure of economic growth and co-dependency (so business interests will innoculate us from military confrontation).
