these studies are just silly. Just looking at this jobs page sure doesn't leave ME with a positive feeling about US competitiveness for the future.

I read so many of these articles that claim the same thing. With all of the savings generated by outsourcing, the more profitable companies will spend their spoils on new equipment, training for displaced workers, etc., etc. Do these people really expect us to believe such pure unadulterated garbage. Investments and training will only occur to the extent that there is an immediate payback for management. Management cannot devise any methods other than layoffs and outsourcing to improve the bottom line by reducing operating cost. Higher profits lead to bigger bonuses which management will pay to themselves. Just think, perhaps they can justify a $100 million bonus instead of a paltry $20 million. Of course, these are short term goals. Who else makes so much in a year or two. Read this link; the only one that really makes sense:
