I maintain now and always have that the war on terrorism is primarly one of military action.

And I will disagree with that because the only way to protect against another 9-11 or Madrid is by intelligence and law enforcement type activities. The cells are already launched. For the most part they are independent and operating on their own...now that we left Afghanistan and diverted to Iraq. In my world the goal is to protect the homeland first and foremost. This is done mainly through law enforcement. But let me be clear, I believe that military action is needed too. But it must be focused and it must meet the objective which is to terminate Al Qaeda.

In your world you want to use military action...but then instead of using it where it will do the most good you take it to Iraq. Nothing could be more wrong in the war on terror. The war in Iraq is not part of the war on terror. It was a war against Saddam. And because of the way it was executed we lost a lot of face in the middle east. And it increased the number of terrorists we need to worry about. Heed Rummy's famous memo..."are we creating more terrorists than we are killing?"

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the war on terror takes intelligence, law enforcement and military action all directed by people of intellect and integrity who understand the meaning of a focused strategy and the meaning of coalitions with our allies.

The myopic Bush administration is still looking for their glasses.
