<Look how many National Guard people are currently serving> LOL -- Bush serving in the Guard to avoid serving in Vietnam fit with the times. How many rich kids from influential families who got them in the Guard served in Vietnam? No, they did not serve -- they avoided serving without having to be labeled as draft dodgers. Flying around in a jet in the U.S. and having a good time -- nice work if you are well-connected enough to get it. And little G. Bush used his connections very well indeed. He looked so cute in his uniform. It would have been a shame to send him to Vietnam and risk getting his suit dirty with all that mud and blood. Bush served? No. Bush got served -- lets have anothor round over here barkeep and toast they guys who did not have a daddy who could help them dodge real military service. I respect people who openly opposed the war in Vietnam -- but not the ones who hid behind daddy.
