Why? She is a rather young woman with no military experience whose expertise is the soviet union. She has little life experience outside of academia, not married, no kids. Entered college at age 15, so didn't even have a typical youth. Never run a business, for all we know never held a job outside of academia and the government. If she were a white male nobody would consider her particularly remarkable.
