I didn't realize the music itself could be susceptible, but should have suspected it. I've downloaded maybe 150 songs with Kazaa lite, mostly replacing music that I'd bought in album form many years in the past. I hate paying for the same songs over and over, just because the format has changed. I quit when the recording industry got stinky about it, and came away unscathed (virus and lawsuit-wise), but I see the skunks have since penetrated that resource too.

I like your analogy about being in a bad part of town. Perfect!

I misunderstood the writer's query as being a spyware and not a virus question. I surely don't want to give out bad information, and for that I apologize. Thanks to you and the cow for giving the RIGHT answer.
