Didn't President Bush appoint that "den of snakes?" This just shows that standing on principle is merely a slogan for this administration. If they were really standing on principle they wouldn't have caved to the pressure. But in reality they thought it was good politics to say they were standing on principle while not having Rice testify. Once the political calculation changed, the principle magically disappeared.
