Phil > I haven't been following this as closely as I should, because I am a trusting type who can't believe that any American could possibly have had fore knowledge or have been involved in this act. Just like the assassination of JFK or the attempted assassination of Reagan?! Anyway, as far as I am concerned, I'm not the trusting type and I like to think the "unthinkable", even if only as an intellectual exercise. Clearly, we can't go through all the 9-11 "problems" here but I would nevertheless like to mention the cornerstones of why I believe there was complicity by the US government (in no particular order). 1. In my opinion, the terrorist acts of 9-11 were far too extensive and sophisticated to have been carried out by a bunch of crazed jihadis, controlled by a sick, old man from a cave at the other side of the world and whose every means of communication was being monitored continuously. 2. Only important people with control of NORAD could have caused the extensive interceptor cover, which normally exists, to stand-down. 3. All communication with the planes was blocked except, as you mention, some cellphone calls. As I understand it, because the planes fly at the height and speed they do, no cellphone communications are actually possible when they are in flight. Indeed, no cellphone company has produced any accounts showing any of the calls which were allegedly made. 4. Either the "black boxes" were not found or nothing was found on the tapes. Most peculiar. 5. It is clear that the Bush administration did whatever it could to ignore/obfuscate any information purporting to come from bin Laden/Al Qaeda even though serious intelligence from many agencies throughout the world informed them that a terrorist attack was to be expected and even one where planes could be used as missiles. This doesn't only come from Richard Clarke and Karen Kwiatkowski but many others. 6. As I understand it, the WTC, on 9-11, was the first building in history to have collapsed in the manner it did, allegedly as result of the melting of the reinforcing steel, and then within minutes of impact. Such an eventuality defies all the laws of physics such as the temperature of flames within closed spaces and the melting point of metals. And then, as if to add insult to injury, the steel which was removed from the debris of the buildings was sold to a company in India and taken from the site as quickly as possible. None has been kept for forensic tests. 7. There is considerable evidence that the plane which hit the Pentagon was not a Boeing 757 but a much smaller aircraft and possibly even a missile. 8. There is also evidence that the plane which crashed in Pennsylvania exploded in mid-air since bodies and debris were scattered over a wide area. The presumption is it was shot down, or even blown up, but this has been "officially" denied. 9. Without any known investigation after the event, FBI chief Mueller announced, within hours of the attack and after previously having said that he did not know who was responsible, that not only was bin Laden the culprit but Mueller gave full particulars of nineteen of his alleged hijackers. But, as we found out later, at least nine of these were found to be alive and well after the event and neither the passenger lists for the aircraft involved, nor the video cameras on the gangways going to the aircraft prior to the flights, demonstrated any of them. 10. Cui bono --- who benefits? Certainly not the Muslims in any shape or form, in fact the opposite --- but, most decidedly, big oil is a big beneficiary. Also Israel. > A cover up of this magnitude would involve many many people, and therein lies another great discrepancy.
