That's a generalization....not nearly all young people were anti Vietnam in early 70s. Many used common sense rather than acting like irresponsible spoiled children. It's a myth used today (to defend their actions) by the former flower children who acted like infants in the 60s...stomping their feet while getting high. Kerry joined their cause only after realizing that he could not win a congressional seat in Mass unless he started the flip flop habit he has consistently followed since then. His political priorities have always followed the line of least resistance to the office he currently covets.
